visitors. There are many famous landmarks in the city, including the Downs and the Cathedral as well as the city’s association with the engineer

Bath grew up around its thermal water springs which can still be viewed today in the Roman Baths. As well as these attractions, Bath is famous for its
stunning architecture, the beautiful abbey, its flower filled streets, parks and gardens. The city’s compactness makes it perfect for our walking tour.
Our trip is based in the centre of Bristol in the 4 star Thistle Hotel. The hotel has 182 deluxe rooms. The Thistle Bristol has a restaurant which has recently been awarded an AA Rosette which recognises the high quality of the food offered. Wireless broadband is available for a fee payable directly to the hotel. Guests also have use of the Otium Health and Leisure Club.

Harrogate has magnificent Victorian buildings, Colourful banks of flowers, broad tree-lined boulevards and wide open spaces. Reminders of the regal era are the 19th century Royal Pump Room Museum housing the original sulphur well and the Royal Baths Assembly rooms.
York (83 kms)
The beautiful medieval city of York has 2000 years or history in one compact city. With a great deal to offer from the splendid York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre, the National Railway Centre, over 30 museums, as well as shopping. Meander through the twisting atmospheric streets, wander the city walls or stop for tea in one of the charming tea rooms.
Haworth (11 kms)
The world of Wuthering Heights is brought alive in the famous village of Haworth, which is surrounded by rugged and brooding Pennine moorland. Haworth Parsonage, now the Bronte Parsonage Museum was home to the literary sisters from 1820 to 1861. It was here that Charlotte wrote ‘Jane Eyre’, Emily created ‘Wuthering Heights’ and Anne penned ‘The Tenant of Wildfell Hall’. Today the museum contains a vast array of Bronte artefacts and is just one of the attractions in the cobbled streets of Haworth

This trip explores the Highland of Scotland whilst based in the old port town of Oban. The trip includes the captivating Loch Lomond. The area is renowned for its beauty and tranquillity and offers picture perfect views around every corner. We have included a cruise on Loch Lomond so you can see the ‘Bonnie Banks’ from the water. We’ll also visit the peaceful island of Iona; the birthplace of Christianity in Scotland, a visit to Iona Abbey is included. The west coast of Scotland has some of the most dramatic wild scenery. Hundreds of lochs cut into the mountainous coast, where the cries of wildfowl can be heard across the water. Nothing seems to have changed here, in the land of ancient castles, fine whisky and little stone towns and villages. The tour then heads to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, a place where natural beauty and history combine to provide a feast for the eyes and mind.

This 3 star hotel has recently been refurbished and restored to its original Victorian glory and a warm welcome is accompanied by good food and service. Due to the Columba Hotel’s unique location and style of architecture, nearly all 50 bedrooms enjoy wonderful open views of the town, the harbour, Oban Bay, Mc Caigs Tower and the island. All rooms have tea/coffee facilities and hair dryers. The hotel has a small lift to all floors; please note however that there are 2 steps down to the lift and several rooms are accessed by 2 or 3 steps. There are also 7 steps down to the Restaurant.

Our base is the 3 star superior Westmoreland Hotel Orton near Penrith. Just north of the Lune Gorge, this hotel nestles in the hillside where the Pennines meet the Lake District. The hotel offers breathtaking views of the wonderful peaceful surroundings. The hotel has 50 recently refurbished classic bedrooms. All rooms have free view TV and a hairdryer. Amenities include a bar, a comfortable lounge and a restaurant. The hotel lift does not go to all floors, however it is possible to request ground floor rooms.
